This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

The science of baking is a fascinating, not to mention tasty, way to learn about precision and chemistry. My students LOVE to cook and this project would bring to life a new unit on the Science of Baking with an in-class Foodie Fun Friday experience.

We will learn about an entrepreneur, Kathleen King, the creator of Tate's Bake Shop who launched the company as an 11-year-old and we will bake cookies in our classroom crockpot.

This hands-on learning experience will inspire creative thinking, precision in science, measurement, and real-world reading with recipe following. Help us bring real-word learning into out STEM learning! We deserve it.
