My classroom is a safe learning place for students to explore. I want my students to become more independent thinkers and collaborators in the educational setting. Students are so much more successful when working in groups of their own peers, than when a teacher stands and lectures to them all day.
My students are fifth grade students that come from various backgrounds and cultures.
We are a Title 1 school, but students here do not let their family's financial status dictate their learning ability. My students want to know how things work, and question everything.
I would like to integrate two more iPad minis into our class room, to go with the 3 I currently have. I want students to explore to find answers to their questions. My students need to learn how work collaboratively to solve problems, to be ready for life in the real world. My classroom is set up into five table/learning communities, and I would like to have an iPad mini available to each community to use as needed throughout the day. It has been very challenging to make this work with only the three I currently have.
With the addition of these two iPad minis, my class will learn the true value of cooperative learning, and how to be a part of a learning team.
The students will be able to go into Middle School with this learning tool under their belt to become successful learners and leaders!
