"Science is an imaginative adventure of the mind seeking truth in a world of mystery." - Sir Cyril Herman Hinshelwood, chemist. Nobel prize 1956.
Our school is a small, loving community, nestled high on a hill at one end of Ferguson, MO.
Our little scientists love to learn. They love coming to school where they are nurtured and given opportunities to explore their world through the eyes of a scientist! Twice a month our school stops what we are doing and focuses solely on STEM experiments. The students love these days and look forward to hands-on experiences with Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics!
I am fortunate to get the privilege of teaching science, technology, engineering, and mathematics on STEM Days to the third grade. My third graders will use the Science Centers to explore science in hands-on ways. They will experiment with and learn about outer space, phases of the moon, plant parts, life cycles, simple machines, energy transformation, states of matter, and food webs, to name a few. They will also learn social skills such as getting along in a group and sharing. My students will explore each center further by researching their STEM materials on the iPad mini. They will also further their learning with apps such as Climate Kids, Amazing Space, and Building Big.
Your donation to our STEM project will enable my students to explore STEM topics in fun, hands-on, engaging ways.
This learning will stay with them throughout their lives. The scientific youth of today become the scientists of tomorrow. What an investment you're making with your donation!
