My Students

My students are diverse in both culture and abilities. I teach two groups of fourth graders. My classes are made up of students with learning disabilities, students learning English as a new language, as well as general education fourth graders. My students learn in a variety of ways and we work hard to accommodate all of the different learning abilities and styles of each student. My students come from a variety of backgrounds and while each are different and unique, we focus on coming together as a learning community!

My Project

Many of our STEM projects use recyclable materials that we use to create and build prototypes for projects. Now we are increasing our knowlegde and beginning to tinker with magnets, force and motion, and other aspects of the physical sciences.

The kits will provide students the opportunity to experiment through hands-on activities.

The progress and growth I have seen, especially with inner city kids getting these hands-on experiences, is immense.

Many of my students struggle to have the basic materials they need for school, so interactive kits and materials ignite so much excitement within our little learning community.
