Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Our students love using their imaginations to create. Based in a small city in South Jersey, my public elementary school is a diverse community of learners. Our student population includes many high-needs learners and over ninety percent of our student population qualifies for free or reduced-price lunch due to the families' low socioeconomic status.
Our inclusion class is made up of ESL and Special Education students and it is great to see all of our students collaborating and having fun using their hands to create together!
Despite the difficulties students endure in and out of the classroom, they truly enjoy coming to school. It is great to see all the students collaborating and having fun working together!
My Project
Our students love building! The goal for this project includes using DreamBuilder building blocks and Jack and Roo Mag builders as tools to engage students in meaningful hands-on learning experiences. Hands-on learning gives students meaningful experiences. Many of our students are aspiring engineers, ready to take on the world's problems and develop solutions that make life easier and more enjoyable for everyone!
Teaching today’s students requires instructional practices and activities that are creative and that meet their learning needs and interest.
Supporting this project will enable me to engage my students in science and engineering activities that are meaningful and fun!
