Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My students are from a high poverty area and have very few things to call their own. Their families often work and don't have time for hands-on projects, which will help with understanding new concepts. Every time we do a hands-on experiment, their eyes light up with excitement.
I want my students to become whatever they want to be when they grow up, but they need to have all different experiences to decide what that is.
I hope with new exciting projects they will have a better chance in the world!
My Project
My students enjoy learning through experiments. In this project, I have many different STEM and STEAM projects for them to work on in a small group and whole group instructions. The Toy Maker STEM Challenge Kits will help my students to build a toy from the ground up. Design & Play STEAM Kits will allow them to design a project from their imagination and test it to make sure it works. Along with a cart to hold all the projects in for a STEM exploration area.
My students have so little hands-on projects in kindergarten provided by the school, but it is the best way for kids to learn and retain!
I know my students will learn and retain the science that they have learned at the beginning of their education. They will learn to love Science Technology Engineering and Mathematics.
