My students need 2 HP Stream Laptops to access mathematics programs and applications, as well as develop original writing pieces. Colored paper will be appreciated for publishing student-created writing pieces.

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My students are 30 dynamic fifth graders that comprise two mathematics and literacy intervention classes. Each and every student is challenged with either poor reading comprehension or academic hurdles in mathematics. Some face additional obstacles including attention deficit, English acquisition, dysgraphia, specific learning disabilities, anxiety, and Autism. Despite these challenges, they have so much potential.
These students would benefit from new technology that would allow them to access their reading and mathematics intervention programs through my workshop model of instruction.
My Project
The use of the HP Stream laptops will be a daily activity in my intervention classes. I use the workshop model for supporting both mathematics and reading/writing learners. Students will use the technology for guided practice, access to educational applications, and even for engaging in mathematics, reading, and the writing process. Students then love to publish their work on brightly colored paper.
Donations to our project will help increase student attention and focus, engagement in mathematics and STEM activities, and help our most academically challenged students develop their reading and writing skills.
