My Students
My students come from various socioeconomic, race, religious, and cultural backgrounds. They are bright-eyed and excited about learning. My students love learning and engaging in meaningful activities.
Our classroom fosters a love for learning through different experiences.
Many students do not have the background knowledge that you would expect a child their age to have. I try to provide students with experiences that will impact their lives not only while they are in my classroom but that they can take with them throughout their lives.
My Project
STEM is making huge strides in education but we often forget the Arts are just as much a part of the process as anything else. I am asking for a document camera so that all the students can fully access all of the material.
So many times we only see the end to the process and this can be overwhelming for both students and teachers.
Having a digital document camera will allow my students an opportunity to share the process that goes into creating their projects. This will give students and teachers insight into replicating and advancing our work. We can't think of a better way to bring STEM to life then by sharing our work with others!
In class many times I have to explain how items work together and how to manipulate things. Without a document camera students cannot fully understand. A document camera will allow for our STEM activities to be brought to life! How cool would it be to have the student be the teacher and explain the "why" behind their creation? The process of creating, analyzing, and exploring things will be available for all to see! I truly believe that seeing is better than simply hearing!
