My students are eager, excited, and have shown me that they truly want to learn!
They have been challenged with a new STEM project every month and continue to amaze me each time.
They have truly become engineers and great problem solvers. Thus far we have created a parachute, space garden, water filter, and aluminum boats.
My students are very innovative and love hands-on learning. Many have expressed a bigger interest in Science since starting monthly STEM challenges. They cannot wait to complete these challenges every month.
Getting students excited about learning can be a difficult task. One way I keep my students excited about learning is by making lessons as hands-on as possible.
Centers and monthly STEM challenges are not only part of my classroom culture, but the school culture.
One of the most challenging parts of creating a hands-on lesson is prepping and getting access to materials without having to use personal funds. Parental involvement is huge at our school, but asking for monthly material can create a strain. These kits will make prep and cost less of a challenge for the parents and me!
