My Students
I have an great group of 21 first graders this year. I have 12 girls and 9 boys. I have three students who receive special education services. I also have two English Language Learners. All of them came to me in August with a variety of learning levels and learning styles and all have made progress and are learning their own way and at their own pace.
Each student has a unique learning style that keeps me constantly updating and leaning new techniques.
This year I have a mix of artists, singers and athletes. I have some that love science, some that excel with technology and some that love math. However they all love to learn and want to succeed in school.
My Project
Children love learning by creating and these kits will be just the ticket. They will not only give me much needed supplies but a way to organize them that is neat and functional. It also provides me and the children with ideas on what to do with them when they have that occasional I'm stuck moment.
They will help my students study concepts of science and engineering many things.
Science concepts are often overlooked or taught through language arts and math while this works for some students others need a different method. When get these materials out students will be able to create an actual object and see how different materials affects the outcome. They will see how an inclined plane affects motion and create a way to push or pull a car across a table.
Their brains will be challenged and those children that learn in kinesthetic ways will excel. Books, worksheets and movie clips are great but these materials will make these concepts come alive.
