Help me give my students anatomy models, a model of an erupting volcano, and other STEM activities that provide hands-on and minds-on lessons for my students.
I have been given the opportunity to teach the grade that is near and dear to my heart! At this age, my students come to class so eager to learn. They are like a sponge just soaking it all in. They have a positive disposition and there is nothing more enjoyable than to see their smiling faces as they enter the classroom each morning!
They enjoy being in a classroom where they can explore and learn about their world around them.
They like completing projects and working together to make sure everyone in class understands the concepts and know that there are many teachers in one classroom.
My Project
These hands-on STEM products will continue to inspire the creative side of my students. Early STEM education has been known to increase science literacy and enable the next generation of innovators. As an elementary educator, I must do my part to begin this process for my students. All of these activities have been chosen with my students in mind. Children at this age love to interact with their learning environment and enjoy building things just like real engineers do. They are more motivated to learn when they can apply their skills instead of just doing worksheets. They are going to learn how to count money much quicker by using a Pretend & Play Teaching Cash Register.
Imagine the excitement my students will have after building their gear-driven toy model or looking through a microscope at assorted science specimens!
They will enjoy investigating whether or not an object will sink or float and investigate a flower model, an Earth model, and also an erupting volcano model. As you can see I have carefully chosen these STEM projects to give my students the passion for science and hopes to pursue a job in a STEM field. It's never too early to start!
