My Students

We have a diverse group of Pre-K students who are ready and excited to learn! With your support, they can grow, learn, and spread their excitement for education into their future academic career. Pre-K is a special place for children to learn how to get along with others while building self confidence and self esteem. They learn how to socialize with others, manage disagreements, and build key communication skills needed in the future.

We are curious and active learners who love to make new discoveries by exploring our surroundings.

It's hard for a four year old to sit and listen for long periods of time. That's why we learn through play! Our classroom materials are essential to our learning process. The materials we play with allow us to role play, reenact what we have learned, illustrate, create, build, rebuild, count, and manipulate water/sand flow. Sometimes we don't understand the purpose of an object so we play around and test our theories. Sometimes we'll think some more and try out a new ways to use our materials. We make observations and discuss what we notice. Through our discussions, we draw conclusions that help us to make sense of the world.

My Project

Using STEM in the classroom is one way in which students engage in collaboration and critical thinking skills. They become problem solvers, mini engineers, scientist, and mathematicians as they manipulate and interact with the materials that are in front of them.

Being able to interact with ramps, balls, and simple machines allows students to learn the principals of motion and force using hands-on materials.

Instead of providing facts and reading about it in a book, my students will get to set up the ramps and manipulate the ramps to make the balls run fast or slow. Students will be able to draw their on conclusions about force and motion.

By giving students an opportunity at an early age to solve problems with engaging materials, we will foster a scientific mind that will open them up to a bright future and world around them.
