Help me give my students a chance to engage in STEM with learning stations incorporating magnetic tiles, Engineer coaster, Create a Path, Gears and an easel.
Kindergarten is such an exciting group of mixed interests, abilities, and goals. Some of my students are learning to read, write, and count, while some of their classmates are learning letters and letter sounds. Our group loves to play in centers, learn new games, and sing.
In my classroom, we build a community around what we have in common and our shared experiences.
We are part of a larger school that celebrates inclusion. I teach in a wing of three kindergartens, two general education and one bilingual. My classroom is about building skills in all developmentally appropriate practices. The work we do in this classroom is building relationships, staying with the group, following directions, and accessing general education content in different ways. We celebrate little wins together each day.
My Project
We want to use our large magnetic board to have a STEM station for our Kindergarten student. STEM is such an important component to our curriculum in all grade levels, but especially in kindergarten. The children are learning about science, technology, engineering, and math for the first time.
It is critical to ignite their learning and provide the necessary tools to make our learning geared for the future work place.
This project will provide an additional Magna-Tiles STEM station in our classroom and storage for our STEM materials. These STEM stations will incorporate the science and engineering component of STEM. Children will learn about STEM and the necessary components of STEM for their future. Magna-Tiles, Engineer A coaster, Create A Path Magnetic Center and Turn/Learn Magnetic Gears will be used in lessons to meet science, math, technology standards and so much more. These are resources provide a variety of ways to support our curriculum!
