My Students

This is my first year teaching second grade! I love this age. They are still excited to learn yet independent! This is my 9th teaching, and I love every minute of it. I teach in a farming community so you have the down home feel!

At this age, they are so eager to learn and become excited when they learn their sight words and can read on their own.

Students at this age love to learn. I am trying to "Set the Stage" to engage!

My Project

These activities would increase my second grade students’ engagement level which in turn increases learning. STEM is needed in the lower grades. Students need STEM projects and building to increase their learning. Jobs today are geared more towards STEM and by exposing students to it increases students to having a desire to wanting to go into a profession in the demanding world.

Technology is expanding into more of our daily aspects of life.

By exposing students to math and science in a fun and engaging way, students will learn more. The students will use the Code a Mouse to code and not even realize how fun coding can be. By making it fun and engaging, they will want to learn more. Osmo does just that. Each Osmo game invites the children to learn without them even know they are learning. I love the coding and fractions games Osmo has.
