Help me give my students a chance to learn about growing our own organic food, gardening, farming, and hydroponics.

My Project

My class has requested materials to grow a garden based on what they learned reading the Little House on the Prairie books by Laura Ingalls Wilder as well as going to farmers markets with their families. They see how many homeless people we have in our school neighborhood, and we discuss kindness and helping the elderly. Their goal is to have a garden to share at school and home and take to senior centers. We would like to start with something fast/easy that we could use daily at lunch and also take home/share with neighbors and the community.

Thanks to everyone who has helped through DonorsChoose, we have been able to experiment with a couple of different hydroponic systems and they have been amazing.

We would like to continue with hydroponics/microgreens growing and could use some refills on nutrient supplies, sponges and seeds.

We would also like to add a plant light to our science corner - especially for the winter months.
