My Project

Hands-on manipulatives give students opportunities to explore fundamental number sense, and build conceptual understanding, such as the counting sequence, one-to-one correspondence, and computation strategies. The Circle Time Learning Center gives daily practice with calendar concepts, the alphabet, counting and helping the whole class build literacy skills together. The Math Magnetic Tin activities give students hands-on practice with counting, matching numbers to quantities and sequencing.

Hands on manipulatives make learning math interesting and enjoyable.

Students use manipulative materials as concrete models to solve problems as mathematicians.

Engaging mathematical games can also encourage students to explore number combinations, place value, patterns, and other important mathematical concepts. Manipulatives help them construct an understanding of ideas that they can then connect to mathematical vocabulary and symbols.
