My Students
In a low SES school, my students struggle with life on a daily basis. Caring about academics and being college educated is not at all a priority; getting by day to day is.
I want to give STEM Engineering girl students the desire to learn more about Engineering and become successful women in life.
I want them to know that a better future is possible and attainable. In my school, 99.9% of the students are of Hispanic descent, and 99.5% are economically disadvantaged. These students come from various backgrounds and the majority have a hard life growing up. With low scores in math, science, and reading, I want to ensure that my students have a fighting chance to be successful in life. Many of these students do not believe in themselves because they've never had the opportunity they deserve. I want to give them the opportunity to explore a well rounded STEM Engineering program and become successful citizens.
My Project
This powerful laptop will help me give my STEM girl Engineering students 3D assignments that are not accessible at home. This powerful laptop will provide an essential role to help my girl STEM students access engineering and a way to continue learning about 3D rendering using SolidWorks CAD software! My students currently use Solidworks CAD software to create their ideas but it's not accessible at home. The main point of this project is that my students will create their own prototypes to help make a difference in our community (STEM: Technology & Engineering).
