My Students
My classroom consists of 20 eager students who are passionate and driven to learn. I'm looking to build strong STEM skills in my scholars so they have strong mathmatical, technological, and science skills on which to build in years to come.
STEM instruction plays an integral role in shaping a child's future because without it, they lack the necessary tools to understand concepts such as math, financial literacy, and technology and they lose the passion for all things science.
My classroom consists of students who are low-income and do not have access to the same tools that more affluent schools in my city are able to provide for their students. Providing my students with the tools for enhanced STEM instruction gives them the tools they need to learn with more hands-on experiences rather than simply text and paper instruction.
My Project
I am asking for several Lakeshore Learning Math and listening centers that will enable my students to boost and reinforce basic math skills as well as allow them them to integrate technology into their learning.
New STEM/math centers would allow my students, particularly my English Language Learners, access to more hands on learning and academically engaging centers .
My students will benefit from the addition of new centers and tablet cases as well as headphones to allow them to explore Science and technology in new and more exciting ways. I will use the cases and headphones with our class set of tablets. The book totes allow students to travel from one space to another with ease with their learning materials.
The new Math Instant Learning Centers allow me yet another avenue for providing the proper learning support to my students.
