Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I currently teach approximately 34 third grade students in the disciplines of Math and Science. We are a Title I school and cater to a diverse population. My students enjoy the different opportunities of learning. I use STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) education in my classroom to show my students how these subjects relate to the real word and to challenge my students to think outside the box. Research shows that early exposure to STEM fields through vertical articulation and inquiry based activities provide authentic learning experiences for students. STEM learning also provides my students the opportunity to explore key standards with their peers in a collaborative setting.
My Project
STEM materials will be added to STEM closet in order to allow more students to enjoy this process. Supplies are needed for student completing corrections, station areas and classroom supplies.
Students enjoy the STEM activities that we are able to do in the classroom.
They work on their own, with partners and in groups. It allows students the opportunity learn to work independently and cooperatively with others.
The continued goal of my project is to enable all learners to improve or enhance their skills in every subject area so that they are able to succeed in school and also to prepare them for higher education.
