My Students
I am the proud teacher of thirty gifted students! Our district has an amazing program that provides specialized education for all identified gifted students. In elementary school, these students have the opportunity to be a part of a community of like-minded children. These communities are called Discovery Classes. My class is very diverse and all of my students have very different backgrounds and socioeconomic statuses.
There is no better day than today to encourage our gifted learners to shine.
Every day my students amaze me with their ability and desire to learn. These students are very hyperactive and experiencing life through hands-on learning is very important to them. They constantly push their understanding of the world through questioning and exploration. The diversity of my students allows for numerous opportunities to see the world from a different point of view.
My Project
My students love to learn and challenge themselves with hands on learning. I strive to support them through providing opportunities that they can learn from. STEM based subjects are their favorite when it comes to building and learning through project based lessons.
1 in 5 jobs in Seattle are STEM based.
We live in a high Tech area, but sadly our education does not always reflect this need for proficiency in STEM. With these materials I can get my students one step closer to experiencing and practicing the skills they need to be successful in this community. I am so excited to help them prepare for their future in an fun way!
