My Project

These tablets and coding programs are all items that will make a difference in the life of every student. Coding is the future and children need access to resources and materials that will allow them to learn what will ultimately be a necessary skill. As a math and science teacher, it is my job to prepare my students for a world that heavily emphasizes math and science. Part of that preparation involves teaching them skills like coding.

Just like learning a new language and how that impacts and creates more flexible brains, coding is a necessary language for them to learn and also allow students to learn problem solving in a fun and new way.

Recently, my students have come from Russia and Ukraine and do not speak English. This coding will help them not only communicate in a new language but help them quickly adapt and connect with their peers in a way that doesn’t require the English language to be spoken. This allows all my students to learn a new language together and build a community of language learners.

Not only will these Fire tablets and Osmos resources push and challenge my gifted students, but they will also allow students to learn new skills and build flexible out of the box thinking and problem solving, two skills that kids nowadays are sorely lacking.
