Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students are energetic, eager to learn, and hard working. They are attending a pre-kinder to fifth grade Title I school in Los Angeles. Our school strives to nurture our students into becoming thinkers, leaders, and change makers. We have recently embarked in a journey of becoming a "Leader in Me" school. It is very exciting for my students to rise to the expectations of becoming a LEADER!
My students come from low income homes where their parents have to work hard to meet their needs.
Some of my students have to stay in school until six in the evening because their parents cannot come for them until they are out of work. Nonetheless, my students are ready learn and strive to do their best every day. My expectations for my students are being met each and every day.
My Project
Students will use the iPad we recently received in a prior project so we need a keyboard and pencil to be able to work on assignments.
The keyboard and pencil will be used for research assignments in science and the TPT card will allow me to purchase STEM activities that will engage my students at a distance.
My students will be able to instantly show their work to the class from their desk as they are working on iPad when we are finally in the class. The other students will be able to view their work live on the screen. The science virtual labs will be conducted on the iPad and the keyboard, and pencil will help them access these resources and write about their experiences.
Since we are working at a distance now the TPT card will allow me to access standards based digital resources for them to use to engage them in STEM activities.
