My Project
Our classroom is a unique and vibrant space that serves as both the English Language Learner (ELL) classroom and the hub for our school’s Gifted and Talented program. While our students have different academic profiles, they share a common need: engaging, hands-on learning opportunities that challenge their thinking and spark creativity.
We are seeking STEM kits and classroom headphones to provide all of our students, ELLs and Gifted/Talented learners, with meaningful access to science, technology, engineering, and math exploration.
Our classroom is not a traditional homeroom, which means we're often left out of typical school supply channels, even though we serve a large and diverse population of students every day.
Our Title I school is home to a wide range of learners. The ELL program supports over 100 students in grades K–8 who come in and out of our room for language development and academic support. Many are new to English and thrive with visual, interactive, and hands-on instruction. The Gifted and Talented program also uses our space to work with students who are eager to dive deeper into problem-solving and advanced concepts.
STEM is a powerful bridge between these groups. For ELLs, STEM activities support vocabulary growth, critical thinking, and collaboration. For gifted learners, STEM offers a chance to innovate, prototype, and explore beyond the curriculum. For both groups, it means engagement, joy, and challenge.
By funding this project, you’re helping us create a truly inclusive learning environment where language barriers are lowered, curiosity is encouraged, and all students, regardless of background, can think like scientists and engineers. Your support makes our multipurpose space a launchpad for discovery.
Together, we can show our students that innovation is for everyone.
