This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
Middle school students with 25% categorized as ELL, 15% with Special Education accommodations. More than 70% of my students qualify for free lunch programs. Our students are most interested in exploring the world around them and work best when they feel apart of the learning process.
My Project
Students grades 6-8 will use materials to not only learn about applied sciences and the careers they are connected to, but also to foster a community of engagement by having these students me for students grades 3-5 in the skills they learned. The soldering irons will be used to make kits for Scribble boys and electronic monsters with peer mentors. These soldering irons will be wrapped into our sustainable programming initiative that will cut costs for long term programs. The forensic kits will be used during our True Crimes program which uses forensic science and criminal justice to support target literacy standards.
