This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My students, drawn from diverse backgrounds, carry the weight of unique challenges as Title I Transitional Kindergartener. As they set foot on the path of their educational journey, it becomes imperative to provide not just learning but engaging and hands-on opportunities that resonate with their developmental nuances.

The overarching goal of my project is to introduce these young learners to the captivating world of farming, not merely as a subject of study but as a comprehensive and interactive experience.

By bringing the farm to life through play, we can create an environment where students actively participate in the learning process, making the information more tangible and memorable.

Farm props and costumes will transport our students into the world of farming, allowing them to explore and understand the day-to-day activities of farmers, and will enable students to explore the responsibilities of animal care. This not only teaches them about the various animals found on a farm but also instills a sense of responsibility and empathy. This immersive experience helps build a foundational understanding of farming practices. As students engage in hands-on activities included in this project, they will also gain insights into the growth process of plants.

In requesting donations for farm props, costumes, gardening tools, and planting supplies, I am seeking to create a learning environment where each item plays a crucial role in the growth and development of these special TK students. Your support will help us sow the seeds of knowledge, nurture curiosity, and cultivate a deeper understanding of farming through the power of dramatic play. Together, let's harvest a future where these young learners blossom into informed, inspired, and confident individuals.
