My students are 21st-century learners who are constantly seeking knowledge. They are growing up in a fast paced informational world. Most of their day is spent inside a classroom in a sedentary way. When they are given opportunities to move around and stimulate their brains, they get energized and excited about the things they still have to learn. My students need STEM based learning resources. These tools will be used to challenge their creative thinking in the areas of science, technology, engineering, and math.
My Project
My students are inquisitive 21st century learners. They are looking for new and exciting ways to explore and learn. The supplies from this project will help provide my students with STEM based learning extensions and opportunities.
These resources will help encourage my students to think outside of the box and apply their new content knowledge to unique learning projects.
The books I am requesting are What Do You Do With an Idea, What Do You Do With a Chance, and What Do You Do With a Problem. The books have interesting titles that are designed to make students think outside the box and ponder new ways to look at do things. The STEM learning kits will allow my students to practice finding new and different ways to solve a given problem. The Vehicle and Bridge Building Engineering kits have task cards that require students to think through and design a solution for a given task. They will be able to compare results with classmates and work together to reflect and change designs based on their desired outcomes. The learning opportunities are limitless as students can create and design their own challenges based on the new ideas they are inspired to explore.
