STEM Explorers: Hands-On Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math for All!

My Project

The items I’m requesting—such as magnet play sets, building blocks, and STEM-themed storybooks—are designed to offer hands-on, sensory-rich experiences that are essential for young learners with special needs. These tools will help my students grasp foundational STEM concepts like force, measurement, and engineering by engaging multiple senses. Magnet sets, for example, will allow students to explore attraction and repulsion through touch, which can help make abstract ideas more concrete. Building blocks will encourage creativity and problem-solving, while simple measuring tools and experiment kits provide early exposure to math and science in an accessible way. Each item provides opportunities for sensory exploration, motor skill development, and collaboration, all of which are critical for my students’ growth.

My main goal is to introduce my students to STEM in a way that is fun, inclusive, and adapted to their learning needs.

I want to provide them with opportunities to engage in hands-on exploration, learn to solve problems and work with their classmates. Through this project, I hope to foster early skills in math, science, and engineering while also helping my students build confidence, develop social skills, and practice perseverance. By creating a safe and interactive environment for STEM learning, I aim to nurture their curiosity and equip them with foundational skills they can build on in the future.
