Help me give my students hands on scientific exploration time. These supplies are so expensive and not provided for by the district. Student engagement and effort are always great and the kids just love being scientists.

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students are awesome; they all live on or near the poorest street in the state of MA and our school needs some support. When I am able to implement a hands on science experiment/lab activity, the students rise up to the occasion and show us what they know. I see over 600 students a week and can't wait to see them all of them go to college to become a scientist.
The students at our elementary school have a strong sense of community here at school.
We have a strong focus on teaching, learning, and positive social development and the arts. All of these support the students to become leaders for their peers and all stakeholders in the school. The are always helping out each other, the staff, and our guests when they are here. Our students have reading buddies and give tours when special guests come to visit. Every day is an awesome day when working with our K-5 students.
My Project
These materials will allow me to conduct standards-based STEM explorations in my science lab classes. Without these donations, students would not be able to conduct small group projects to explore the various scientific explorations. Students will now get to conduct their own experiment, and see first hand how the world of science works. My goal would be for every child to leave these lab classes and be excited to do their homework and return for the next class ready to learn and become a future scientist.
I will use these materials with each of the specific grade level groups I see on a weekly basis.
Students will be engaged in the various aspects of a science lab by creating a lab sheet, conducting the experiments, tracking the data, and then reporting out to the entire class their results.
