This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
In our classroom, we spend the whole day making sure students are receiving the best possible instruction and ample opportunities to try what they’re learning and apply it. One place we do that is during choice time, during which students get to pick from various content-aligned art, science, storytelling, building, games, or other activities. These allow students the opportunity to make observations and new discoveries based on their learning, and allow our students, over 50% of whom are learning English as an additional language, the chance to practice science vocabulary.
Help me give my first graders materials for our science center!
These materials will be provided as one of the centers students have access to daily. They will be changed out depending on unit and what content they’re learning. Please help me give six and seven year-olds opportunity to play and learn!
