it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
Building a love for science at a young age is essential in fostering creativity and critical thinking. Data collection, analyzing evidence, and interpreting evidence are some of the most important skills young scientist can learn in order to be successful in the future. My students are more likely to engage in a given lesson if there is a lab or hands on portion. Furthermore, they should be planning and carrying out their own investigations through any hands-on activities we do. These circuits will allow me to give my students several hands-on stem activities that lead back to core scientific skills and principles. They will collect their own data, quantitative and qualitative, from working with circuit parts. As a class they will practice organizing their data and using it to create scientific arguments. This will allow me to further build on their innate curiosity while also providing multiple chances to reinforce our most important learning outcomes.
