My Students

I have a transitional kindergarten of wonderful four year old students. My students love exploring the world through hands-on experiences. The school's student population is comprised of approximately 25 percent English language learners. Approximately 40% of population receives free or reduced lunch. As a CA Distinguished School, our kindergarten team is thoughtful of the early literary research to close the knowledge gap.

In our classroom there is a thoughtful and conscious effort to balance the importance of STEM content and vocabulary with learning school readiness skills through play.

My Project

Our kindergarten team is motivated to provide STEM education to our students through hands-on experiences whenever possible. That is why we are excited to begin teaching in our school garden. I need a place to store our garden tools and materials as we begin this new project. I am requesting a storage shed that I can keep near our garden and safely store the materials I need to teach my lessons. We will be able to work together in our garden to learn about plant and earth science. The shed will be the perfect spot to store all of these valuable learning materials.

My project will provide active learning experiences where my students can dig, create, explore, observe, and experiment in the natural world.
