This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
Algebra 2 is a challenging subject for students to learn because it demands students to have strong Algebra 1 foundational skills, great attention span to learn, memorize, and apply formulas and steps. Aside from the textbook, students need to see math with supplemental resources and technology to make connections to the real world. Having a graphing calculator will allow students to visualize different functions in color, transformations of equations with a click of a finger, and make predictions and check their math calculations. The goal of this project is to complete my class set of graphing calculators. From the previous donorschoose's project and my pocket, we already have 19 TI 84 graphing calculators for my students to share. We would like to request for 11 more so that every student will have access to one or check out one to take home to use when they do their math homework. My students are special! They work very hard in my class to accomplish every learning task that I assign. It is difficult to motivate and encourage them to come to school every day and learn when they have so many responsibilities outside of school. However, with hard work, my students perform really well on state exams. If there's anyone that deserves the graphing calculator, it is my students!
