Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
The students in my classroom are 6th-grade, special education students. My students struggle with mathematics concepts, and this year our goals are to build confidence in our foundational math skills and to become more engaged with our learning. Having materials such as popsicle sticks, straws, life savers, and rubber bands will help them to create things out of everyday items using their imagination.
My students work together as a community based on their learning styles and interests.
They work very hard, and a big issue for them is the retention of topics. I am always looking for new and interesting ways to help them to thrive and remember different topics. We are a part of a large school that celebrates inquisitive learning. All of my students are working hard towards high school and college by relating all of their topics to real-world situations.
