My students need Doodle Pens, plastic cartridges, markers, graph paper, and Lego tape for our Maker Station in order to design projects from colored blue prints through the design process.
My students are in a semi-rural school district and there are limited resources for arts integration. Many are advanced learners and enjoy researching. We are ready to take our passion projects to the next level.
Having a ‘Maker Station” to carry out the design and production process will provide us with opportunities to create upcycled projects and become better stewards of the environment.
Students are eager to create and connect their learning through problem solving. We would like to promote design challenges and opportunities for students to extend their learning a step further. This will generate much excitement for our students and enable us to integrate design with consent nation to create visuals aids for our research project.
We strive to provide opportunities for children and families to focus on and celebrate learning. Students will collaborate on research, present their findings, and create a model that supports their research at the lowest cost using materials they’ve upcycled. Products will then be auctioned to benefit Maker Station materials.
My Project
These doodle materials, pens, Lego tape, and organizers will enable students to design projects from up cycled materials as models for animal biome and adaptations.
As they design in teams, they will create colored blue prints of animal adaptations to our maker station and transform their designs into 3-D art that depicts the specifications.
They will incorporate these into our class artifacts museum that focuses on our units of study in biology and natural resources.
We will focus on resources of the native American cultural groups, adaptations of plants and animals, as well as life cycles of and natural habits of organisms within each environment.
