This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

When you first walk into my class/lab you will realize that there are 300 unique students. They all come from different backgrounds and deserve to have the best so they can make a difference in the world.

Our school is a low resource school. Each student has a story. Some of them come from really rough homes where school is usually not the first thing on their mind. Others, come from very loving homes, but still have many struggles at home. No matter what the differences are, they have learned that we are a family and they treat each other with that respect. They are a wonderful group of students who are eager to learn.

My Project

Technology is a big component in STEM class. Students are always needing to do research before they can create products. Students follow the Engineering Design Process (Ask, Imagine, Plan, Create, Improve). During the Plan step, students need to figure out how they will create the solution to the problem.

Students are required to do research online to compare what is already out on the market.

Students also use Chromebooks to program the lego robots we build. Having the Chromebooks in the STEM classroom allows students to have access to technology that will help take their learning to the next level.
