My students need activities for STEM learning centers, incentives for completing centers successfully, and pocket charts to keep our STEM centers organized!
This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
My students are creative, compassionate and full of questions! They love hands-on, engaging projects that allow them to think outside the box to find solutions! They come to school each day eager to try new things and take chances in order to grow both personally and academically.
My awesome 3rd grade students absolutely love learning, although the methods and environments in which they learn best vary greatly.
In class, we use many different learning strategies, group activities, and learning options to ensure that each student's needs are met, right where they are! They are truly an awesome group of kids, and I am lucky to have a new group of learners that are excited and ready to learn each year!
These are wonderful young ladies and gentleman have a thirst for knowledge, and my mission is to ensure that they can rise above their current circumstances to find success!
My Project
Not all students are able to learn in the same way. Some are auditory learners while others are visual learners. To reach all of my students, I differentiate learning by using small group centers which include different activities within our learning community. Now I would like to include STEM activities which can be a supplement to our daily instruction to keep my students excited about math and science.
I will use the pocket charts to organize our time.
The flashcards will be used by the students at each center, and the incentives will be used with our behavior management system.
Through our STEM centers, students will gain excellent mathematics supplemental instruction without the stigma of math being "boring." STEM centers in a math class is a great means to boost students' confidence about their success. Your help and concern will empower my students with the confidence and skills to reach goals that are much higher than those they now consider. Funding this project will help increase readiness for college and encourage my students to consider careers in mathematics and technology.
