This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
I want to encourage my students to use their imaginations and problem-solving skills by creating a STEM center in my classroom. We need a variety of building materials such as wooden dominoes, KEVA wooden planks, chenille stems, velcro dots, craft sticks, plus blocks, and magnetic tiles.
Students will use these materials and their engineering skills to create bridges, towers, floating devices, roller coasters, and chain reactions.
They will work together through the engineering process and learn how to improve their creations to solve further problems. I also want to reinforce the concept of telling time by having the kids set the clocks at various times to monitor the time spent on their projects. We can't wait to start our engineering STEM projects. Thank you for helping us develop our imaginations!
