This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My school is a free public charter school.

I teach a bright and eager-to-learn group of first-grade students.

My school has a diverse population of students, many of whom receive free or reduced-price lunch. A large proportion of students speak English as a second language.

Many students do not have the ability to bring in basic supplies to share in the classroom. Many of my students have ADD and ADHD and would benefit from having new resources in our classroom. They are so excited to come to school every day.

My Project

The class I have this school year loves to build things with their hands. What better way to increase our STEM building skills than by giving my students the tools to work with. The assorted shapes, magnets and blocks will increase creativity in the classroom. My students will be able to build houses, bridges, cars, and other objects based on the tools and supplies given. We would also like to have Legos to build to create new objects.

The engaging building centers teach kids to look closer at real-life designs, and make original structures that use the same important elements!

My class is full of creative students who love to explore. We would also like to use them as activities for indoor recess. We live in Florida and have recess late in the afternoon. It is either too hot or raining during our recess time.
