My students attend school in an urban city that is diverse and cultural. Our particular school, one out of 11 elementary schools in our district, is an example of a true neighborhood school, with a sprinkle of two programs, special education and bilingual, that attract students from other areas of the city.
Giving my students opportunities to show off their mathematics skills is a priority!
They are energetic and excited about learning math, and they strive to succeed in everything they do!
At our school, we make sure we highlight and provide STEM activities that enhance the interests of our students. We want to show them what opportunities they will have in years to come as they fulfill their education requirements, especially in the fields of Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics!
The STEM Collection books in this project will begin to create a library of resources for all our students in our building.
I will use them in my classroom (which is actually the Science Lab in our school) and during my science lessons, be able to reference these books for all of my students from Kindergarten through 5th grade!
