STEM Bins: The Power of Creativity in the Classroom

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My students are 3rd graders who are sweet, fun, and they LOVE to be challenged in innovative ways. These children love to be creative and often want to interact with hands-on experiences. Since state testing will be over soon, my 3rd graders need challenging projects that will allow them to express their creative thinking through a level of complex and in depth learning.
I want my students to have the opportunity to be challenged and learn in different ways, by incorporating real life examples.
My Project
STEM stands for Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics. Through STEM, every child is able to express their creativity and achieve success in a different form of learning. I love for my student's to believe that they are good at something, and STEM bins provide that opportunity for them.
Paper and pencil activities are wonderful for the classroom, but in order to promote challenging learning and "out of the box" thinkers, students need more forms of learning like the STEM bins in the classroom.
We already have the bins in the classroom, but I am lacking the materials for my students to use them on a weekly basis. I am asking for resources for the bins including a set of Magnetic Building Blocks Set, a set of Building Bricks, a case of Play-Doh Modeling Compound, a set of Linking Blocks, some Brain Blox Wooden Building Blocks, dominoes and craft supplies. Once state testing is over, I want my students to be able to use the STEM bins numerous times to engage in a deeper level of thinking.
