Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
I teach second grade at a two-way immersion school where both native Spanish speakers and native English speakers come together to learn a new language from one another. Our sweet, bilingual students are hard-working, kind, and a joy to teach. I am so proud to be their teacher!
I want to give my students STEM bins to encourage them to invent, create, and increase their fine motor skills!
These STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) bins will be used both independently and with guidance. During independent STEM time, students can invent and create different designs using the materials in the bins. Students will be able to design different shapes with the Picasso Tiles, Suction Toys, and "Tetris" Puzzle Pieces. I will also be able to use the Picasso Tiles during math instruction to help the students identify 2D and 3D shapes.
