This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
We are a small, culturally diverse school with students from Pre-K through fifth grade. My students come from a variety of socioeconomic backgrounds and have diverse learning needs.
My students will be some of our future artists, engineers, scientists, mathematicians, authors, politicians, and teachers.
My students have a love of learning and are hungry for knowledge. They are energetic and inquisitive. They enjoy being creative and solving problems. My students strive to be successful. They love using technology and participating in hands-on learning activities. They also enjoy working with each other. I love how they work together to finish assignments or projects, not caring whether they are 2nd or 3rd graders. They definitely look out for each other.
My Project
STEM Bins will provide my students with additional materials with which they can experiment and learn about Science and Engineering. We currently have limited access to STEM materials. We have a few items in our classroom that my students can experiment with, but I would like to give them additional materials that they can use to explore Science and Engineering concepts. My students really enjoy using the STEM materials we already have. My hope is that by having these additional STEM materials available to my students, they will become more interested in Science and Engineering and hopefully be more interested in these fields as potential careers.
