Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Every, single, day, I am blown away by what my students are able to do with how little they have. Many come to school with difficult pasts.

Despite these hardships, all of my 6th graders come to school each day with a passion to learn more than they knew the day before.

6th grade is the first year they get science class every day. I want to create an environment of curiosity and innovation, a place to get them to love STEAM!

My Project

I try really hard to include at least one STEM project/activity per science unit, however, this year that has been extremely tough to accomplish with the limited materials my students have at home.

These materials will help my students to get the hands-on science experience they deserve.

We know when students create something it creates deeper connections in their minds and therefore they are more likely to remember, enjoy, and continue learning about that topic. These materials will give all my students a level-playing field to create, explore, engage, and learn this school year.
