Help me give my students materials like lacing cards, STEM building sets, and fidgets to meet their sensory and exploration needs!

My Project

First Graders need opportunities to learn and explore through building, creating, touching, and feeling!

These materials all support children's inclination to explore their world and enhance their learning through play and discovery.

The materials in this project will help to expand on our morning bin selection to add in fine motor supports with activities like the lacing cards and stencils. The tinker toys, bristle cubes, and straw construction sets will add to our Friday STEM bins in which my 1st graders have time to explore through play, trial and error, and perseverance. The timers and fidgets honor students' emotional sensory needs by providing structure for self-directed breaks, and supports for anxiety and restlessness.

Each of these items provides the sensory experiences that are so important to young children.
