This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Project

My students are so special and deserving of an opportunity to move away from the computer and worksheets and be hands on creating something amazing using dominoes. STEM development can be sparked and cultivated by playing with dominoes sets. By constructing different shapes, student's spatial thinking ability is stimulated, and their patience cultivated. It also develops fine motor skills, cognitive ability and practical ability. This also encourages collaboration and teamwork. We will be incorporating science, engineering and math to build our domino wonderlands and enjoy watching them fall! Many of our students do not have the resources outside of school for such experiences. Educating in a Title I school limits our in-house resources as well. This would be an amazing and grateful tool to use year after year.
