This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Project
My students have shown great interest in showcasing their creativity through STEM and art activities in my classroom. Because of this, I want to give a more permanent spot for these activities to take place daily in my classroom. In doing this, my students will have more access to these activities and the supplies needed for this type of creativity.
If this project is funded, I will be able to open STEM and art tables for students to work at daily, taking their learning to the next level.
In order for STEM and art activities to be more readily available for my students, I need tables that lend themselves more to cooperative working and a larger space for art and STEM activities. Their small desks are not great for either of these activities.
The requested rolling cart would organize the materials students can use to facilitate their learning through the arts and STEM. Having these materials out for students to have quick access to will allow the focus to be on creativity instead of finding and storing materials. I have accumulated many art supplies, but we constantly need more crayons and heavier paper for them to use during their projects.
I believe allowing time for students to apply their learning through art and STEM projects is a great way to nurture creativity, while also fostering more connections to the content being taught.
