Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I teach in a Title I school, and I believe we have some of the hardest working students who are sometimes mislabeled. Many of my students come from single-parent or low-income families. Although some of the families cannot afford to enrich and expose their children with various opportunities, I believe that along with support from myself, our school and our community, this will not hinder them to excel. I witness them working very hard to meet goals and standards that are put in front of them each and every day.

My Project

My students are very creative, however, we are currently limited in the amount of variation we have within our workstations. This project will help to increase their creativity and challenge them to think beyond a simple task. My goal is to use the supplies to allow students open-ended activities where they can take their learning further without increasing their workload. The chosen activities are hands-on, and I believe it will incorporate the whole brain learning so that students are engaged and having fun while also problem solving.
