My Students

Mountain Trails Elementary is located in a very new suburban area. Multiple rows of construction are taking place surrounding the elementary school. Though we are not a Title 1 school we are on the lower end of the socio-economic spectrum. Our area is growing so fast that I was hired to teach kindergarten part time at two elementary schools in the area. We have 7 kindergarten classes at Mountain Trails Elementary and each of our classrooms are approaching 30 students each.

My Project

So much of our curriculum, especially online has lacked the sense of discovery, engagement, and open ended creativity that students have had in previous years. These activities will be used during center rotations, activities for fast finishers, and for inside recess when snow and temperatures keep our Kindergarteners from playing outside.

I have chosen several STEM activities, independent games, and projects that can keep students engaged, problem solving, working with others, and developing creatively.

Additional materials are items we run out of or need for basic management of the classroom and providing individualized book boxes for each child's materials.
