I teach around eighty, seventh and eighth graders.
I work at a Title I school on the east side of San Antonio, where the majority of our students come from low-income families.
We have a very diverse group of students who are eager to learn. One hundred percent of our students also qualify for a free lunch. Many cannot afford even basic supplies, so we try to provide everything we are able to for the students that are needed along with extra goodies as rewards. We teach a majority of Hispanic and African American students, a percentage of English Language Learners, and special education students.
Seeking out, discovering, and praising any effort of all students make toward learning, particularly those who are failing or underachieving. Teachers can praise any part of the learning process, academic and/or behavioral, as well as encourage the child to give self-praise.
All our students are bright, capable young people who can achieve everything they set out to.
We strive to help them with all their goals. Our students usually work together either in small groups or independently. The teachers at my school work together to give our students the best educational opportunities possible. Our school is known as the Pride of the Eastside and they are the mighty knights.

STEM education is the intentional integration of science, technology, engineering, and mathematics, and their associated practices to create a student-centered learning environment in which students investigate and engineer solutions to problems, and construct evidence-based explanations of real-world phenomena with a focus on a student’s ability.
