Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
I work at a Title I school where many of the students are economically disadvantaged. These students are considered to be at risk of failing or living at or near poverty, primarily in the elementary grades. It is my goal to prevent them from being in that category and to have a future that looks bright and will expose them to new things outside of their world. I love that my students want to learn and experience new things and it is my job to provide them with their educational desires.
My Project
If my project is fully funded, my students will have access to a wide range of technology stations such as computer kits, robotics and snap circuits. Classroom lessons will teach the students how to be programmers of the 21st century. These stations will also enhance their math and digital skills. STEM will allow the students to be innovative, make a difference, foster a love for creativity and stay current with technology. Starting at an early age with STEM activities will give my students a head start with technology careers or college majors, that have not been developed yet. A bright start to their future.
